Talk to the dive chairs early. Please sign up in advance. All people who sign up are responsible for fees at the dive. People who don't sign up for the dive may be excluded from the dive and shunned for life. On camping trips, each diver is responsible for finding its own campsites. The chair will attempt to organize campsites, but no guarantees can be made. There is a $5 per day fee for use of the club boats. Personal flotation devices should be brought for all dives using club boats.
I would like to get a head count of divers ASAP so we can figure out whether or not we need to bring two boats. Therefore, if you are planning to join us, please email me and let me know right away, even if you have already told me you are interested. If you don't RSVP and just show up, there is a possibility that you may end up doing your dive from shore, so let me know if you want a spot in the boat!
Gear and tank fills are readily available at the Breakwater, but bring your own or plan to rent. You WILL need to bring a coast guard certified life jacket to participate in the dive. Lots of quarters would also be wise to bring along. After the dive we will probably head over to the fish and chips place or the Mucky Duck or somewhere else where a TV is accessible to watch whatever post season baseball might be on (but please don't remind me about our dive last year before Game Six of the Series...) and, of course, don't forget the $5 per person fee to use the boats.
Since the Breakwater lot fills up early, plan to be there early to help with boat set-up, etc. I will try to be there very early to get a good parking spot, which means I will probably be heading down the night before. As soon as I figure out from your responses whether we are likely to need one boat or two, I will let you know the dive start time, but count on it starting no later than eight or nine am...It is also possible to come down only for the afternoon dive, (and spots in the lot are usually but not always freed up around noon or one pm), but if you do that you WILL be expected to be on the boat take-apart crew since you didn't help put it together...
