The general membership approved a motion to spend money on general liability
insurance for Alacosta Divers, with the money coming from the Catalina fund.
This insurance will not cover diving.
The members did the usual Catalina activities,
choosing cabins, dinner assignments, and boat runs.

There are rumors from reliable sources that Mike Faircloth and Kevin Dalley
may withdraw from the Vice Presidential race.
There are further rumors that LibAnn Cappelli may be nominated for
this office.
Jack Cash, if he is elected as treasurer,
is willing to have another person
look over his shoulder when he is doing the Catalina books,
since he would be serving as both treasurer and Catalina chair.
A recent article in another newspaper (the Chronicle) revealed
some new scientific findings about love.
Self-disclosure and risk-taking on the first date are suggested as methods.
River rafting and scuba diving are suggested as strategies
of falling in love.
Alacosta has a poor record on this front.
Perhaps the Alacosta dives are not dangerous enough to encourage love.
Perhaps discussions about the quantity of snot released after
diving and the pleasures of pissing in a wet suit do not involve enough
self-disclosure to guarantee falling in love.
