New dives

Talk to the dive chairs early. Please sign up in advance. All people who sign up are responsible for fees at the dive. People who don't sign up for the dive may be excluded from the dive and shunned for life. On camping trips, each diver is responsible for finding its own campsites. The chair will attempt to organize campsites, but no guarantees can be made.

Orinda Book Fair

There will be a book fair for the Orinda Library on Saturday, October 5. Call Jack Cash if you want to volunteer.

Albion Campgrounds, October 18-20

Ted Mendelson will lead a dive out of Albion Campgrounds on October 18-20, Friday-Sunday. Make reservations at Albion Campgrounds (707)937-0606, if you want to go, or you can take a chance at finding a site when you arrive. The cost is $7/person. Albion flats is slightly south of Van Damme. It has easy access to the ocean and coin-operated showers. Call Ted for more information.

Halloween party and Catalina reunion

Tom Ross is chairing the Catalina Reunion and Halloween party at the Lafayette Veteran's Center on Saturday, October 26. Wear a costume. If you want to show slides, call Tom Ross. Warning, we still need slides for entertainment at our regular meetings, please do not show all of your slides at the reunion. Call Tom for more information or if you just want to talk to someone .

Cypress Sea on January 1

Alacosta may have a dive on the Cypress Sea on January 1. There will be signups at the October general meeting.

Cypress Sea on Monday, February 17, Presidents' Day

Steve Shub will lead a dive out of Monterey on Presidents' Day, February 17. Signups will be at the October meeting. More information will be available later.

Fiji-Beqa lagoon, Marlin Bay Resort
Tom and Cindy Casey

In 1992, Tom and Cindy Casey will be leading another adventure, to Fiji. The location is the Beqa Lagoon. They will stay at an American owned operation called Marlin Bay Resort. Beqa Lagoon is 300 sq. kilometers with 68 kilometers of unbroken barrier reef. Beqa Lagoon is the ring of a volcano crater rising from a depth of 5000 feet. Beqa is surrounded by deep clear ocean water. The date is sometime between February and June 1992 and the costs are still being worked out. Please call Tom and Cindy Casey for further information.
